Company Profile We are looking for a Mandarin speaking CFO to work as a key member of its high-profile team. Candidate will be the leader of an experienced finance team of 3+ staff (experienced controller, 2 accountants) in Vancouver. Responsibilities The candidate will focus on obtaining Project Financing from banks in China (including marketing and origination through to structuring, pricing, preparing presentations and reports to the banks.) This person will prepare strategies/plans and participate in Project/debt financing. He/she will coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information required by creditors/banks. This person will also oversee the financial operations and manage the accounting team. Working with the controller, this person oversees the following: Changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems for the company. Cooperate with Information Technology manager to maintain integrity of accounting information Implementation of an accounting system that can accommodate the transition from advanced exploration  to construction to operations Evaluation, implementation of internal controls to safe guard assets and mitigate risks Compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements. Liaison with auditors, bankers, Canada Revenue Agency, and various government agencies in China and Canada Review of internal financial reports, including operating budgets, monthly cash flow, financial statements and variance analysis reports for the management team and Board Review external financial statements in accordance to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS); and Review finance, accounting, billing, budgeting, tax planning and auditing fuctions Review of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. Qualifications Must have a recognized accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, CA) 10-15 years of experience in managing investment, funding and financial planning in a financial institution /mining/oil & gas/industrial industry. Prior experience in the marketing of banking products and services is preferred, along with extensive experience in the buying/selling of sophisticated financial instruments to mining companies Must have experience working with private equity shareholders and doing business in China Must have the ability to do business in Mandarin (written and spoken) and understands financial information in Chinese Demonstrated extensive background in the financial area including financial analysis, financial reporting, asset/liability management and portfolio management with a thorough understanding of the following: Principles and techniques for interest rate risk management, liquidity/investment management, credit risk management, and operations risk management. Capital and money markets including the treasury and agency debt markets. Traveling: The position is Vancouver based with 25-30% of out of town traveling to project sites in Northern Canada and China. Given the seniority of the position and the nature of the business, the successful candidate will be expected to work the hours necessary to fully complete his or her duties and responsibilities.
