Our client is a self-sustaining Federal Crown Corporation that is responsible for buying, processing and marketing all freshwater fish caught for commercial sales in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Northwest Territories and part of North-western Ontario.

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for integrating supply, processing, sales requirements, inventory control, logistics and distribution on a day-to-day basis, with total cost ownership across the supply chain.  The Supply Chain Manager is also responsible for ensuring that every step of the process is functioning effectively to avoid costly delays and lost sales.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Works collaboratively with department managers to reduce logistics costs relevant to their operating budgets

  • Works collaboratively with Sales and Marketing staff to develop sales forecasts and with Field Operations staff to forecast supply, working with these two departments to develop production plans that balance the supply and demand of various products

  • Implements strategies to ensure product/customer demands are balanced, including metrics, automated processes, etc.

  • Oversees the material delivery management services to production, including root cause analysis and cost recovery

  • Ensures compliance of business unit with all organizational policies and procedures

  • Routinely recommends alternative means to improve earnings and revenue opportunities in the market

  • Frequently executes critical decision making in a changing environment where outcomes cannot be predicted


Qualifications:

  • University degree in Commerce, Supply Chain or Materials Management

  • Minimum 3 years related experience in purchasing/materials management role

  • APICS/PMAC or CPP Certification or currently working towards

  • MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel

  • ERP,MRP and MRP2 experience
