Recently, International SOS has joined one of Canada’s leading oil and natural gas companies in the development of the oil sands region. Work will be taking place in isolated camps northwest of Fort McMurray in Northern Alberta.
The Position
The ideal candidate is an excellent clinician, who works well independently and as part of a team. The individual must have the skills to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and business clients. Understanding and experience in corporate and occupational health is a plus. Remote nursing experience, including working in climate extremes, is advantageous. Candidates with certification or professional training in digital imagery are highly desirable.
Selected candidates will work as part of a clinical team – which includes Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, RNs, and EMS - at an on-site medical center. Healthcare staff will be providing primary care and emergency support to the local employee population, and will be supported by a clinic medical director. Work will be performed on a rotational basis, with full room and board while on-site.
The Person
- Prior experience within primary and emergency medicine
- Currently registered with ARNNL
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support(ACLS)
- Computer proficiency
- Proactive and solution focused
- Proven communication & management skills
- Remote and industrial experience, including working in climate extremes, is advantageous
