Weatherford Canada presently has openings for enthusiastic individuals to fill the position of Well Testing Supervisor.  The Supervisor operates and maintains equipment in a safe manner to ensure job specifications are met.  This position supervises field personnel and assists Supervisors as required including the training of new Operators.

This position is based out of our Grande Prairie, AB location.

Primary Responsibilities

·         Select appropriate equipment, organize crews and arrange accommodations (if required) with the Operations Manager

·         Supervise the loading out of the job package

·         Ensure that all required crew members are available and properly equipped with all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing.

·         Ensure that the job package is equipped with all required tools and spare parts

·         Participate and or conduct the pre-rig in safety meeting

·         Assign/oversee all rig-in responsibilities

·         Assist with installation and perform function test of all critical safety equipment

·         Supervise the pressure test of all critical valves and systems as per required regulations and policies

·         Perform a shift change safety meeting, hand over and walk around with the cross shift

·         Ensure maintenance work is completed

·         Observe overall equipment operation to ensure potential problems are addressed immediately

·         Observe crew activities, ensure operators are dispatched where required

·         Maintain log of liquid and chemical volume levels on location

·         Submit all required safety reports to the Operations Manager and company rep

·         Ensure completion of daily operational and maintenance forms

·         Complete daily tickets as required

·         Report all incidents and accidents to the appropriate Weatherford manager and company rep

·         Ensure equipment is properly cleaned and stored

·         Assign duties to operators as required

·         Supervise the rigging-out of the job package

·         Assign location housekeeping/ and maintenance  duties

·         Maintain open, professional communications with other service personnel and the company rep

General:

·         Maintain knowledge and working practice of all Weatherford policies and procedures

·         Available on 24 hour call, and prepared for work when on call

·         Responsible for good housekeeping and cleanliness on location and in the shop

·         Actively participate in on the job training

·         Demonstrate teamwork

·         Demonstrate leadership

·         Capable of running a day or night shift on critical wells (H2S, high pressure, high volume) with no assistance

·         Other duties as assigned



Qualifications



  • High School Graduate


  • Familiarity with the oil and gas industry and all related production and or well testing equipment & operations


  • Familiarity with drilling rigs and or production platforms / land based production gathering stations


  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels


  • Maintain good Written and Spoken English Skills


  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure


  • Ability to work unsupervised


  • Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment


  • Prepared to travel and work on overseas assignments


  • Additional Related Certification /  Training Courses


  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a well testing and or production operations environment would be a definate asset. Class 5 driver's license and a Driver's Abstract


  • Valid H2S Ticket and First Aid certification


  • Willing to be "ON-CALL"
