Title: Accounting Assistant Location: Vancouver
Reports To: Operations Accounting Supervisor Start Date: Immediately
Job Summary: The Accounting Assistant is responsible for accounting and administration of deferred payment plan contracts.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Track all current customer information in excel workbook
Customer service via telephone and written correspondence (clients who have purchased our product and auto dealerships selling our product)
Ensure that customer accounts are current
Prepare weekly bank reconciliations
Maintain and submit pre-authorized payment files to bank
Perform reconciliations for specified general ledger accounts
Process commission payments to dealerships for sale of deferred payment plan policies
Generate and update all customer accounts in the Great Plains AR module
Prepare and update business process documentation for deferred payment plan process
Assist project development team with requirements for reporting deferred payment plan policies in new in-house software
Take part in annual audit
Required Skills:
Bilingual (English/French) both written and oral is an asset
Ability to deal with various customer sentiments and achieve positive solutions
Excellent computer skills including MS Excel, MS Word, Great Plains Dynamics
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Able to communicate with a wide variety of people (management, sales staff, administration, etc.)
Well organized and able to keep accurate and timely records
Ability to adapt quickly to a changing work environment
Education:
Accounting program diploma (2 years) or related discipline or Level 3 CGA
Experience:
Work completed under strict deadlines
At least 2-3 years working in an accounting/finance department
