Commerical Buyer Trainee - New Graduates Welcomed

Location: Fort Saint John
Salary: $50k - 60k
Note: New Graduates welcomed!
** 3-6 months training to be completed in Richmond BC
Purpose:
Maintaining current sources and generating new sources of raw materials from the local market to supply plant requirements of raw materials at competitive costs.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree of Technology in business or engineering
- Experience in buying metals (Ferrous metal scrap) is an asset
- Maintain good business with current clients and generate new sources of supply/clients
- Able to communicate with other departments to work to a common goal
- Assist in developing strategic plans for new business
- Have excellent management skills
- Have superb communication skills
- Experience with Salesforce software would be an asset
- Have good knowledge of safety programs
Duties:
- Able to cold call to acquire new suppliers/customers
- Communicating effectively with suppliers in Northern BC and Alberta
- Supply the right materials to the main facility
- Manage a very large territory (Northern BC and Northern Alberta).
- Manage a large amount of clients/suppliers
- Able to close sales/purchases "Be a closer"
- Have the ability to keep the flow of materials flowing to the main facility through requiring materials from suppliers
- Able to travel extensively in the assigned territory.
