Human Resources Advisor
Weatherford Canada is currently looking for a Human Resources Advisor who will be responsible for the support of approximately 500 employees across various product lines in Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Based in Edmonton, the HR Advisor will work collaboratively with our operations management team to provide solutions to everyday human resources issues to ensure each Product Line and location continues to fulfill its business objectives. Under the guidance of the HR Manager, the HR Advisor will provide a broad range of HR services in the areas of recruitment, compensation and benefits, HRIS, employee relations, rewards and recognition. The candidate will be experienced in HR best practices and be ready to embrace Weatherford's team-oriented culture.
Responsibilities include providing:
- Recruitment support to hiring managers to ensure headcount is maintained and open positions are filled with qualified candidates
- New hire orientation and support to the required orientation process for employees
- Support for the accurate and timely submission of paperwork to ensure enrolment in Weatherford programs
- Human Resources Information System (PeopleSoft) support to managers, supervisors, and employees
- Participation and guidance in performance management and employee performance improvement plans
- Effective communication and implementation of corporate programs to all employees in the respective business locations
- Knowledge, guidance and support for compensation and benefits inquiries
- Liaison with third party providers in the management of short term and long term disability matters and effective return to work programs
- Policy introduction, follow-up and enforcement
- Act as a resource to operations management encouraging problem resolution through the promotion of positive and pro-active employee relations.
- Effective reporting to operations management to monitor activities and communicate results
In general, the successful candidate will provide support to the "people" components of our business to effectively achieve business goals through people.
Qualifications
- Post Secondary education in Human Resources or related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of generalist Human Resources experience is required; experience within the Oil and Gas Sector is preferred.
- Strong computer skills including experience using HRMS software (eg. PeopleSoft), an Applicant Tracking System (eg. Taleo) and the MS Office suite of products (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
- Career fair and or trade show experience.
- Experience with creative sourcing techniques for talent pool.
- General knowledge of Alberta/ Saskatchewan / B.C. employment law.
- Willing to travel as required;
- Self-motivated and flexible with the ability to grasp new concepts in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service skills
