Location: Calgary
Overview: The position of Senior Geologist will be an integral member of our client’s exploration team. The Senior Geologist will report to the Vice President.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop strategies and forecasts pertaining to annual capital budgeting and is expected to present these plans to senior management and possibly board levels.
- Generate and capture of economically attractive exploration prospects in specified geographical areas.
- Optimizing the company’s existing assets in specified areas.
- Involving farm ins, farm outs, exploratory drilling, infill drilling and work over recommendations.
- In addition, the candidate will be responsible for a variety of government applications pertaining to land continuation and production related issues.
Required Skills
To meet the challenge of this role, we are seeking a motivated, self-starter who works well under minimal supervision.
- 10 + years related oil and gas experience
- Should be a member, or eligible for membership in APEGGA.
- Candidates should have a proven record of adding significant oil and gas reserves at respectable find costs on their own internally generated prospects.
- Experience in both clastic and carbonate reservoirs is considered a necessity.
- Familiarity with current oil and gas exploration software
- Ability to use of a variety of IHS Accumap systems.
- Working knowledge of two and three-dimensional seismic is a must.
- A high level of proficiency in both oral and written communication skills is also expected.
