Infrastructure Analyst - VMWare
On behalf of our client located in Calgary (working out of the Vancouver office is also an option), Ignite Technical Resources is currently looking for an Infrastructure Analyst - VMWare for a 6 month contract with a strong possibility of extension.
The VMWare Server Administrator will be a part of a distributed team of Jr. and Sr. infrastructure analysts.
Deliverables:
· Manage Enterprise ESX high and low density server farms including related hardware and software.
· Manage corporately managed ESX Hosts (All Sites).
· Contribute to architectural reviews, capacity management, and project planning.
· Manage work queues, incidents, requests and service level agreements in accordance with policy.
· Work with corporate IT staff on projects related to the network and server infrastructure and security.
· Manage technical documentation related to the functions of the server team.
Key Competencies:
Information Technology:Must possess detailed knowledge of the VMware ESX virtual Server environment, storage, Microsoft Server family OS’s, Linux, and network infrastructure. Must also possess detailed knowledge of complex, up-to-date computer software and hardware installations.
Problem Solving: Advanced trouble-shooting and diagnostic skills are needed to solve a broad range of complex problems related to infrastructure applications, configurations, workstation operation, server operation, application quirks and network operation.
