Compensation and Benefits Manager
Worley Parsons is currently seeking a Compensation and Benefits Manager for their location in Calgary, Alberta.
This position is responsible for leading efforts associated with total compensation, benefits, and incentive programs. The incumbent develops, implements, and successfully administers competitive compensation and benefits programs designed to attract, integrate, and retain employee talent.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plans, directs, coordinates, and supervises the work activities of direct reports.
- Manages the day-to-day coordination and administration of the company group health, dental and vision insurance, life and disability programs, and other related programs within Canadian region, including the Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan.
- Interfaces with carriers, providers, brokers, and third party administrators to develop and maintain benefit plans.
- Recommends, develops, and implements new or amended benefit plans. Monitors employee/company costs to ensure competitiveness. Works closely with brokers to evaluate provider quotes and make recommendations to senior management.
- Assures company compliance with relevant legislation and procedural requirements.
- Implements new plans and manages annual open enrollment periods including preparing announcement material, brochures, and other media for employee communication.
- Ensures that plan eligibility and administration are managed consistently and equitably.
- Ensures that benefit inquiries and complaints are resolved in a quick, equitable, and courteous fashion. Maintains contact with employees, dependents, and beneficiaries.
- Reviews payments and monthly reconciliations of company’s monthly benefits billings from outside vendors.
- Monitors the organization’s salary structure and benefits provisions to ensure a balance between cost control and attracting and retaining staff.
- Coordinates regular salary reviews and makes recommendations to senior management concerning rate structure adjustments and appropriate salary budgeting.
- Participates in relevant compensation and benefits surveys, and researches and analyzes salary and benefits information offered by the market and the competition.
- Undertakes benchmarking exercises to ensure an equitable pay structure.
- Coordinates the regional variable pay programs including short term incentive plans, long term incentive plans, and discretionary bonus processes.
- Identifies, implements, and manages company participation in appropriate employee discount programs with local vendors.
Job Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent.
- 8 to 10 years relevant experience with 5+ years supervisory and/or management experience.
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist and/or Certified Compensation Professional preferred.
- Knowledge of total rewards design, funding, administration, financing and reporting.
- Strong compensation strategy and tactics knowledge.
- Experience in forecasting and budgeting compensation programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Advanced excel skills
- Experience with HRIS systems
- The ability to effectively communicate and present complex program proposals and reports to senior level management.
- Exceptional oral and written abilities
- Excellent organizational and skills.

- Ability to work cross functionally to implement infrastructures and strategies.
