Canadian Region Pumping Unit Service Manager

The Pumping Units Service Manager is responsible for setting the direction, strategy as well as development of an ongoing business development plan relating to the service and parts components of Weatherford Pumping Units in the Canadian region. This includes developing a sound understanding of market conditions, market intelligence and developing close working relationships with key stakeholders such as regional and store operations, sales/business development as well as the actual end users of the product. Key to this position will be gathering and using market intelligence and developing strategies on how to strategically grow the business in market share and net profit person also actively represents company interests and works as a contact for both internal and external customers.The successful candidate will be required to reside in Edmonton, Alberta however extensive travel in the Canadian region will be required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
Responsible for developing a firm understanding for Service/ parts for Pumping Units and overall being the champion for internally and externally promoting the service/ parts components of the Pumping Units product line.
Responsible for understanding financial information such as Profit and Loss/ Field Operating Profit
Being a direct liaison between Pumping Unit end users, external customers and existing company service groups.
Understanding and communicating with customers - the ability to understand their needs and then match them to WFT capabilities.
Responsible for ongoing training for Service groups relating to product knowledge and repair strategies.
Developing short term and long term business plans/ strategies aimed at substantially growing the business.
Developing and keeping current, a detailed outline regarding market intelligence analysis, market conditions, market growth, market share, market prices, competitor strengths and weaknesses, forecasting , major alliances and contract outlines
Understanding and/or developing Key Performance Indicators involved and ability to stay in tune with changing needs
Keeping management and others, as required, informed of all aspects of the business through regular reporting means
Developing key alliances with Regional personnel, Store Managers, and other Product Line managers and sales/Business Development teams.
Providing recommendations, in conjunction with regional management in all decisions related to respective product line and product development.
Identifying new product line potential where applicable
Analyzing and utilizing cost reduction opportunities and minimizing costs
Developing the overall ability to work in volatile markets, i.e. Understanding market conditions, competition, WFT products and what value means to the customer.
Successful completion of required mandatory safety courses as designated by Weatherford
Complying with all safety regulations and company policies
Travel throughout the various business regions as required facilitating business development opportunities and supporting to operations.
Qualifications:·
· Grade 12 or equivalent combined with a minimum of 5 years overall Pumping Units (PU) experience at supervisory/ managerial level ensuring full understanding of all PU service activities.
· Quality first attitude and attention to detail
· Demonstrated above average working relationship with all service personnel
· Demonstrated ability to teach processes and be a role model/ resource to others
· Safety minded individual, willingness and commitment to receiving both required and ongoing training as a condition of employment
· Successfully completing required safety courses as designated by Weatherford
· Being able to work as part of a team in a team atmosphere
· Advanced interpersonal skills capable of dealing with employees, management.
· Prior supervision experience
· Base understanding of MRP and Lean Manufacturing system with capability of taking further training on both components.
· In depth computer knowledge of enterprise (JD Edwards) system and demonstrated above average time management skills as multi tasking capabilities are required.
