Our client is an international Electrical Engineering and Technical Field Services company servicing electrical power needs of commercial facilities, utilities, manufacturing, mining, pipeline, oil and gas companies. They work on Low, medium and high voltage systems. They are expanding and hiring new staff because of the demand for their services in Alberta. RESPONSIBILITY:
• Lead a team in the delivery of testing and technical field services in the electrical power system sector.
• Commissioning, repair and maintenance of primary & secondary power equipment including:
o circuit breakers,
o transformers,
o switchgear,
o protective relays
• Leadership and mentoring of Junior Field Service Technicians.
• Technical report writing
• Primary customer interface on projects.
• Identify, recommend and implement process improvements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education as an Electrical Technician or an Electrical Technologist or an additional 2 years relevant work experience.
• 4 years work experience as an Electrical Technologist, Field Technician or Power Systems Electrician.
• Must be certified in the province of Alberta or able to be certified
• PSE (Power Systems Electrician) or CET (Certified Engineering Technologist)
• NETA certification would be a big asset, but not mandatory.
• Must have experience interfacing with clients; with both technical staff and management.
• Must have Excellent English communication skills; both verbal and written.
• The ability to travel and work flexible shifts for extended periods in Alberta is necessary.
COMPENSATION: $75,000 to $95,000 depending on experience + extensive benefits.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS & RELOCATION:
Canadian Citizenship or Canadian Permanent Resident status is mandatory.
