Salem Manor Nursing Home is currently hiring for a Part Time M.D.S / R.A.I Coordinator for its 102 Long Term & Continuing Care Facility in Leduc, AB.  (located 15-20 mins South of Edmonton on Hwy 2.)

Responsibilities:

• Orientates new Employees to PPC (Point Click Care) & MDS


• Ability to articulate MDS assessment strengths including how triggers / care plans will enhance quality care


• Coordinates/Schedules MDS submissions on all residents within established deadlines


• Provides ongoing Education on how MDS assessment integrates with existing Clinical tools


• Unlocks/Locks the RAI individual assessments, as required


• Facilitates response & correction of submission errors with Employees


• Proactively develops systems to decrease coding error rates


• Develops site material within PCC program, as required. (Including trending of outlying quality indicators.)


• Provides critical analysis of data at different levels of aggregation (resident, units, facility, region etc.)


• Is a liaison leader with external partners in MDS related issues


• Ability of batch & submit quarterly assessments to appropriate repository


• Educates key facility personnel on RUG’s III patient classification levels


• Actively participates in Strategic Planning for program development & or improvement


• Is proactive in being current with RAI trends

 

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) qualified


• Active current licensure in good standing with CARNA/CLPNA


• Previous experience with MDS desired


• 3-5 years experience within a Long Term Care setting


• Knowledge in: Inter RAI suite tools, MDS/RUG’s III patient classification systems


• Skills in: data analysis, computer skills, adult education and Continuous Quality Improvement Principles


• Team player with strong leadership skills


• Ongoing dedication to providing excellence in Client centered quality services


• Excellent oral & written communication is essential
