Our client is looking for an experienced and self-motivated Insurance Policy Advisor to join their office located in Alberta. The Policy Advisor will be responsible for overseeing the policy development process from start to finish. Core responsibilities include regularly advising and briefing staff on regional policy & legislative development.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide sound strategic policy advice to staff members about property & automobile insurance.
Lead, perform, and coordinate with the Policy Development department, anticipating issues through research and developing new strategies to address issues
Assist in the development of a variety of comprehensive research, training, briefing and policy materials for internal and field staff
Represent the company at internal and external committees meetings
Develop contacts in the insurance industry to seek out information and monitor developing issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in political science or a related discipline.
Minimum five years’ experience in or exposure to political/government policy development.
Subject matter expertise in the property and casualty insurance field, particularly about automobile insurance is ideal
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Advanced stakeholder presentation skills.
Project management experience an asset.
