| POSITION SUMMARY: The General Manager will be a key contributor of the Senior Leadership Team of a 3PL Freight Brokerage organization. They will be instrumental in developing strategies to support client growth and the annual performance of the freight division. The successful candidate will provide Operations leadership with responsibility for continuous improvement and employee development. The General Manager will have a minimum of 8-10 years experience in Sales or Operations Management within the Logistics industry. |
| DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: Manage Sales and Operations teams Take part in strategic business planning Grow company through acquisition and recruitment Budgetary and P&L responsibility Identify opportunities to increase client revenues Provide sales quotes and prepare contracts to prospective clients Ensure client expectations are met, providing support and resolving any issues that may arise Develop processes and procedures that incorporate organizational strategy and will meet business targets Recruit, lead and train leadership staff Support continuous improvement initiatives Develop a strong corporate culture with an emphasis on safety |
| SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS In addition to initiative, integrity, strong work ethic and being a team player: Post secondary degree in the area of Business Management, Commerce or Supply Chain Minimum of 8-10 years experience in Sales and Operations Management within the Logistics industry Previous Freight Management and Freight Brokerage leadership experience Track record of success in leading cross functional teams towards growth Project management and organizational skills Innovative and able to adapt to change quickly Highly networked within the Logistics industry Expertise in developing a high-performing team |
