About the Job
The Merchant Integration Advisor will be responsible for providing phone, e-mail and web chat support to merchants in order to facilitate business integration with AlertPay’s payment processing platform. They will also act as a subject matter expert for technical integration inquiries and communicating said inquiries to internal departments.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for assisting merchants with all matters relating to business integration with AlertPay’s payment processing platform
Primary frontline technical integration helpdesk for all merchants
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve business integration issues
Provide API, IPN and shopping cart support to merchants
Understand merchant needs, business requirements, and priorities. Develop solutions and recommendations based on merchant needs
Escalate irresolvable merchant inquiries to appropriate departments
- Responsible for communicating with internal departments concerning integration inquiries
Document and report known, unknown and new technical integration issues
Communicate findings and reports to appropriate departments
Proactively identify and own issues with business or development groups
Required Skills & Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English, French or Spanish an asset
- Ability to communicate complex instructions via phone or email support
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Well developed problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based structure
- Must be comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated and able to use own initiative
Experience and Education
- BCOMM/BS degree in MIS, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in web programming (PHP, HTML, CSS)
- Experience in content management systems and integrating shopping carts
- Experience in a technical support role and Business to Business Communications
- Knowledge of APIs and IPNs an asset
