Business Manager
Magna Electric Corporation (MEC), with office locations in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina, and Calgary currently employs 300+ Engineers, Technologists, Electricians and office staff. We offer full electrical engineering consulting and design, substation construction, shop services, transformer services, switchgear solutions and training. MEC has been a preferred supplier for more than two decades for clients in the mining, oil and gas, utility, steel, and pulp and paper industries across Canada, the United States and in select International markets.
MEC is currently recruiting for a highly motivated and skilled individual with a strong Accounting/Financial background to join our Winnipeg Operations team as a Business Manager. The Business Manager will primarily be responsible for providing financial reporting, forecasting, and management to the Winnipeg office. Duties include generating financial reports, providing contract management to ensure the financial obligations are being met and monitoring all project costs and reports. Other duties include assisting the Operations Manager with financial and budgetary requirements, as well as providing assistance in the development of budget, planning and other financial documents and reports.
Qualified applicants must possess:
- Commerce or Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting
- Supplemented by several years of progressive experience in the corporate accounting field, a combination of education and experience will be considered
- CA, CGA or CMA designation is considered an asset
- Extensive knowledge of accounting procedures and principles
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Accounting software including ACCPAC
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Highly effective communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
