POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager, Ramp Operations will supervise all ramp operations to achieve maximum service objectives. The successful candidate will also supervise, coordinate and control warehouse operations, ensuring that FAA, RAB, local airport authority and AOD guidelines are adhered to. The Manager, Ramp Operations’ required shift will be 2:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. and they will be expected to be on call every fifth weekend. |
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: Responsible for the proper handling of ground support for the loading/ unloading of aircraft and subsequent in-warehouse time-sensitive activities Ensures tight security measures are exercised for the aircraft from the time of arrival to departure and further indoor activities Perform an audit function on processes and equipment and prepares all required reports Ensure compliance with corporate operating procedures and with Government Regulations and Safety procedures and prepare Canadian Customs forms Communicates with GOC, FAOCAN and ramp engineering on system form issues such as load plans, adhocs, system changes, etc. Work with flight operations, aircraft maintenance, GSE maintenance and fuel provider to ensure all aspects of ground support are accounted for Work with local airport, fire, Transport Canada and FAA officials in the due course of maintaining relationships and conformity to local and federal regulations. Train, coach, develop, and motivate staff members Develop a global customer-focused mindset amongst employees Researches package movement and updates scans/ traces to ensure the customer and customer service have timely and accurate information as to the status of package movement Provide feedback to stations that supply ramp freight on any policy violations Provide station personnel with administrative information Builds and maintains relationships with other departments Ensure compliance to corporate policies and procedures and support corporate goals and objectives |
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS In addition to initiative, integrity, strong work ethic and being a team player: Ba chelor’s degree preferred, college diploma required Must pass the Transport Canada, RCMP and CSIS assessment, which is based on 5 years verifiable background information Minimum 4 years Operations experience Minimum 2 years experience in ramp operations roles with previous management experience preferred Working knowledge of FAA and MOT regulations preferred Knowledge of FAMIS and COSMOS systems preferred Ability to prepare and process Canadian customs paperwork preferred Must complete an MS Excel assessment Experienced in loading/unloading procedures Able to lift 70 lbs and to maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment or assistance of another person Strong decision making & leadership skills Receptive to listing to employees and welcomes employee concerns and implements concerns fairly Able to motivate personnel Strong communicative, analytical & administrative skills Knowledge of International freight forwarding services and budget processes Sales organization and sales reporting Proficient in the use of sales management software systems Previous Ramp Operation experience |
